WEST END, OH (FOX19) - A 12-year-old student has been arrested after police say he admitted to showing off a gun at school.
It happened in the bathroom of the Cincinnati College Prep Academy on Linn Street Thursday afternoon. Superintendent Lisa Hamm tells FOX19 that the 12-year-old was showing the gun to another student. The student then informed teachers that the boy had the gun.
After being questioned by school officials, he admitted to having the gun at school.
The suspect, whose name is not being released because of his age, is charged with one count of aggravated menacing. The Superintendent says the student will face mandatory expulsion for one year.
The superintendent says that student were safe during the incident.
Police say they are also looking for a 15-year-old student believed to be involved in the incident. According to the 12-year-old, he gave the gun to the 15-year old.
