NWS confirms multiple tornadoes in the Tri-State

The National Weather Service in Wilmington has confirmed multiple tornadoes that were present in Brown, Highland and Adams Counties Friday night.

The first was confirmed tornado hit near Mt. Orab in Brown/Highland Counties a short time before 7:00pm. The tornado touched down near Highway 32 and Klein Road in Brown County and crossed into Highland County before lifting near highway 321. The storm was rated an F1 and reached maximum speeds of 100 mph.

The worst damage occurred when a section of a roof was torn from part of a home. Supports for a front porch were lifted and removed from the home also.

There were reports of numerous trees uprooted. Other structures and outbuildings were destroyed or heavily damaged along the path.

A tornado has also been confirmed in Bentonville in Adams County a short time before 9:00pm.

The tornado reached speeds of 70 mph and hit a home on Suck Run Road. Windows were blown out of the home and tree damage to trees in the area.

Luckily, in both storms there were no injuries or deaths reported.
