Multiple helicopters respond to accident in Brown County

SARDINIA, OH (FOX19) -- Emergency crews responded to the scene of a serious accident in Brown County on Sunday afternoon.

It happened just before 1 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 32 and Tri County Highway.

Police say a Honda Fit operated by Kaitlyn Tyler, 17, of Sardinia, was operating westbound on 32 and attempting to turn left on Tri County Highway when she was struck by a Dodge Caravan driven by Ann Kaldmo, 61, of Cincinnati.

Tyler and Kaldmo were both flown to UC Hospital for treatment. A passenger in Tyler's car, Anita Tyler, 52, of Sardinia, and a passenger is Kaldmo's car, Angela Kaldmo, 86, of Cincinnati, were also flown to the hospital. Their conditions have not been released.

The crash remains under investigation by The Ohio State Highway Patrol, but police say preliminary investigation reveals that Tyler failed to yield  to the right of way while turning left.
