Child hit by train in Maysville taken off respirator; breathing normally

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The 8-year-old boy hit by a train last Saturday has been taken off the respirator and is now breathing normally at Children's Hospital Monday, according to Maysville Police.

Witnesses say that the boy in question may have been playing along the tracks on Saturday when he was apparently brushed against a slow moving freight train.

Rumors that the child did not survive the accident are untrue. No word yet as to how much longer the child will be in recovery.
