CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Three people have been arrested after an incident in Lower Price Hill.
Officers stopped Jonathan Gowdy, 20, for lighting fireworks on State Avenue. When questioned by police, officers say he became aggravated. He was placed in handcuffs and city of disorderly conduct for yelling, cursing and spitting in public.
While Gowdy was being arrested, his mother, Cassandra Harris, 43, tried to intervene. While she was being placed under arrest, her arms broke free and she jumped on the back of one of the officers.
Meanwhile, another person, William Payne, 27, became involved in the incident. Officers say he rushed at them and refused to move back, then punched one of the officers in the mouth as he was trying to arrest Harris.
Gowdy is charged with disorderly conduct, obstructing official business and spitting in public, all misdemeanors. He has been released on his own recognizance. Harris is charged with resisting arrest, obstructing official business and assault on a police officer. Payne is charged with assault on a police officer, resisting arrest and obstructing official business.
