MONTGOMERY, OH (FOX19) - A woman is hospitalized after a deer falls onto her car off a highway overpass.
It happened Thursday morning around 11:30 in Montgomery.
Police are not releasing the victim's name. We're told she's not from Ohio, and it's unclear if all of her family has been notified.
Artimis captured the aftermath on tape. Police and emergency crews worked to save the 38-year old female driver who was stuck inside.
Officers said the deer started off in traffic on an overpass. Police said the deer jumped over the fence, landing below on I-71 northbound.
"It landed on the windshield," said Sgt. John Crowell. "Ended up inside the car. The vehicle continued on for about a quarter mile. It went off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree. It flipped over."
Traffic slowed to a crawl for about an hour. Sgt. Crowell said the woman was the only one inside the car. No other vehicles were involved.
Police said the 38-year old victim was first taken to Bethesda Hospital. She was later flown to University Hospital. The driver was initially listed in serious condition.
The deer died.
