Memorial Day events in the Tri-State

All events take place Monday, May 31

KENTUCKY

Covington Parade
Parade at 2 p.m. begins at Holmes High School and continues to Linden Grove Cemetery for a wreath-laying and rifle salute

Edgewood Ceremony
Ceremony begins at 10 a.m. at Freedom Park

Florence Parade
Parade at 10 a.m. begins at Boone County High SChool and proceeds down Ky. 18 to Ewing Boulevard at the Boone County Veterans Memorial, where a memorial program will begin at 11 a.m.

Highland Cemetery
Memorial Day Celebration, 10 a.m. near the chapel. Guest speaker, bagpipes and vocalists. 2167 Dixie Highway, Fort Mitchell

Independence Parade
Parade begins at 10:30 a.m. on Delaware Crossing Drive and continues to Kenton County courthouse. There will be memorial services en route at the Independence Cemetery and St. Cecilia Cemetery. Memorial services conclude at courthouse.

Park Hills Parade
Parade at 10 a.m. begins at 11:30 a.m. starting at former Covington campus of Northern Kentucky University to Trolley Park

Fort Wright Ceremony
Service begins at 10 a.m. on the front lawn of the city building, 409 Kyles Lane.

Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North
KVCN's Memorial Day Event will take place at 1 p.m. Colors will be posted and retired by the Grant County Veterans Honor Guard. Music by the Williamstown Choir.  Wreaths will be laid by family members of deceased veterans. Refreshments will be provided by the Ladies Auxiliary American Legion Post 24, Georgetown. The cemetery is located at 205 Eibeck Lane at the Williamstown exit off I-75.

OHIO

Blue Ash Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony
Parade, 10:15 a.m. begins on Reed Hartman Highway south of Carver Road and ends on Cooper Road. Parade ends at 11:30 a.m., when a Veterans Memorial Ceremony will take place at the Veterans Memorial on Hunt and Cooper Roads. F-16 Flyover scheduled during the parade.

Cheviot Memorial Day Parade
11:00 a.m. and begins at Frances and Harrison Avenues in Cheviot and goes to Harvest Home Park.

Clermont Memorial Day Parade
Begins at 11:30 a.m. at Aztec Plumbing on Main Street in Batavia

Evanston Parade
Parade from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. begins at Academy of World Languages on 2030 Fairfax Ave. and make 2-mile loop through community. Bootsy Collins and Philip Paul will ride on a float designed to look like a sound stage and after the parade, a new song celebrating the King Records rebirth will be unveiled.

Krohn Conservatory
Butterfly Show, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission proceeds will be donated to the Greater Cincinnati Firefighters Memorial Park. Local firefighters will be at the conservator all day, along with fire apparatus displays. 1501 Eden Park Drive, Cincinnati

Memorial Day in Mason
Parade, 10 a.m. begins at American Legion Hall at 401 Reading Road and ends at Rose Hill Cemetery. Following the parade, there will be a service at the cemetery. At about 11:30 a.m., the Mason Community Band will play patriotic music on the plaza in downtown Mason.

Newtown Parade
Parade at 10 a.m. begins at School and Church streets and ends at Moundview Park.

Spring Grove Cemetery
Sons of Veterans Ceremony at 11 a.m.; Kentucky's role in the Civil War talk at 12 p.m.; Historical Walking Tour at 1 p.m. In addition, a moving veterans photo tribute display will be set up in the lobby of the Gwen Mooney funeral home and visitors are asked to sign thank you banners for deployed troops. 4521 Spring Grove Ave., Cincinnati, 45232 in Spring Grove Village
