CINCINNATI (FOX19) – Cincinnati Public Schools has a rough budget season ahead, as the school district begins to hold 2010-2011 budget hearings.

CPS is seeking input from the community on the challenging task of creating a General Fund operating budget for with no increases over this year.

That means the 2010-2011 budget will also require cuts of $20 million dollars in projected spending.

If you want to be involved, the district will hold public hearings on Thursday, June 3, and Thursday, June 10, at 6 p.m. in CPS' Education Center's auditorium, 2651 Burnet Avenue, Corryville.

At the hearings, participants will learn why CPS must lower its spending and about possible cutback areas in staff and services. Participants also can share their views and values on what spending should – or should not – be reduced.
