My mom Bobbie has always been an amazing woman, having raised the 3 of us pretty much by herself. She's my role model and best friend. But she took on another dimension this year as I became a mother myself.
When I finally had my baby after 3 years of infertility, mom was with me every step of the way through the 36-hour labor. She and my husband somehow put up with my labor-induced transformation into Medusa, without a complaint--she never left my side. She is now an incredible Grandma, too.
I am so lucky to have been raised by such a fantastic lady. She has given me so much throughout my lifetime. But I realize now that the greatest gift she has given me is her legacy--an example of what a wonderful mother is.
