MIDDLETOWN, OH (FOX19)- Five suspects are behind bars after DEA agents raid two Middletown homes Thursday night, seizing 125 lbs. of Marijuana from the homes, along with weapons and nearly $30,000.
"There's a lot of drugs that go one around here," said Brandon Tinch of Middletown
That's why neighbors say they're not surprised that drugs, guns and cash were found just a few doors down from where they live.
"They had been receiving large amounts of Marijuana from the Southwest border area, and then re-distributing it at the wholesale level up here throughout Ohio and Northern Kentucky.
Agents seized another 75 lbs. of Marijuana in Northern Kentucky during and undercover investigation.
"Two of the people from the Middletown area were meeting our undercover agent to sell him 75 pounds of Marijuana," Neville said.
Agents call it a large scale multi-state operation they'd been investigating and  using surveillance on for more than four months --one of the homes just a few yards away from a park where children play.
"When you take that amount of drugs off the street it improves the quality of life for the residents in that neighborhood," Neville said
"The more people that are gone, off the streets, the better," Tinch said.
Agents aren't releasing the names of suspects, they're now in federal custody in Northern Kentucky.
