BATAVIA, OH (FOX19) - A historic covered bridge in Clermont County, closed since May for repairs, will remain closed until 2012.
The Stonelick Williams Corner Covered Bridge closed in May when it was discovered that several boards hanging from the floor of the structure.
Further examination of the bridge by Clermont County Engineers found over a dozen floor beams damaged.
Engineers comment that they're thankful that they discovered the damage before a major accident could occur in the area.
The Stonelick Williams Corner Covered Bridge was built in 1878 and is the only covered bridge in Clermont County. Bridge traffic is being rerouted along US 50, SR 132, and Stonelick Williams Corner Road.
