CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -- A local food company announces that they will launch a new line of nutritious foods for the upcoming school year.
Pierre Foods says new line called, Smart Picks will be officially unveiled at the School Nutrition Association's Annual Conference in July.
The Smart Picks line will offer schools more than 60 menu choices that have reduced the sodium, are a good source of protein, zero grams of trans fat, no hydrogenated oils, and are made with whole grains.
The menu includes all- beef hamburgers that have 37 percent less sodium, grilled chicken patties and macaroni and cheese made from whole grain pasta.
