Reds 2B Phillips misses first start of season

CINCINNATI (AP) - Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips was scratched from Cincinnati's starting lineup Sunday against the Kansas City Royals because of a cramp in his right hamstring.

The same injury forced Phillips out of a game against Pittsburgh on May 27.

Phillips, whose 15-game hitting streak is the longest current streak in the majors, had started every game this season. He was hitting .463 (31 for 67) during the streak.

Phillips had missed only five innings all season, including the last three of Saturday's 11-5 win over the Royals.
