HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) — A man accused of attacking and trying to rape a woman remains behind bars.
Police said a 29-year-old woman was walking home along High Street, just after 4:30, Monday morning when she was followed by 40 year old, Emmanuel Yaw Ofori.
The victim told police Ofori followed to Vanderveer Avenue where he began making sexually explicit remarks.
Police say Ofori approached his victim, knocked her cell phone out of her hand, threw her up against a fence, pinned her arms at her sides and groped her.
As he tried to pull off her shirt and shorts, the woman managed to free herself and run to a nearby home, according to reports.
Ofori was caught in front entrance to the Animal Friends Humane Society off Princeton Road.
Ofori was charged with felonies attempted rape and gross sexual imposition and misdemeanor unlawful restraint.
He remains in jail on a $150,000 bond and is set to appear in Hamilton Municipal Court on June 22.
