Police investigate infant's death in Clifton

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Police are investigating the death of a 6-month-old child at a Clifton day care.

Cincinnati Police responded to the Willow Tree House Day Care Center on the 200 block of Ludlow Ave. Tuesday.

Earlier, the 6-month-old child appeared to be ill at the day care, and then passed out. Day care workers took the child to the Engine 34 House at the corner of Clifton and Ludlow, where the firemen there performed CPR on the child, with no response. The child was been taken by ambulance from the firehouse to Children's Hospital.

According to a Lieutenant at Engine 34, it's common for people who need an ambulance to go to the firehouse, but rare for a baby to come in.

A cause of death for the infant has not been released.
