CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A Cincinnati mother is behind bars after police say she left her 5-year-old and 1-year-old children along.

Police were called to an apartment on East 13th Street Wednesday morning on a report of children left alone.

When officers arrived, the property manager told them that Kelsey Walker, 22, had left her two young children home alone.

The 5-year-old told police that his mother was taking his sister to school, but he was unable to give officers information on how to contact her.

Walker returned to the apartment about 45 minutes after police arrived and said she was taking her daughter to school.

She was taken into custody and charged with two counts of endangering children. 241-KIDS responded to the scene to assist the children.
