CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -- Police continue to investigate the death of a 6-month old girl at a local daycare.
On Tuesday Cincinnati Police received a 911 call from the Willow Tree House Daycare Center. The caller tells dispatchers that they laid the children down for naps. When they returned to the room, 6-month old Anya Williamson was blue in the face.
The child was taken to the Cincinnati Firehouse on Ludlow Avenue in Clifton. There she was transported to Children's Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The caller told dispatchers that her mother ran the baby to the fire station because it was taking too long for them to answer the phone.
Police are looking into the issue.
The family has released a statement regarding the death of Anya Williamson:
Anya's family would like to thanks everyone for their heartfelt thoughts and prayers as we mourn the loss of our beautiful child. As to be expected, the parents of Anya are taking the loss incredibly hard. Right now the family does not hold anyone to blame for this sudden & unexpected tragedy. Furthermore, we would like to forgo any further comments until a thorough investigation is completed by both the Cincinnati Police and the county Coroner's Office. Police have not said if any charges will be filed. The Hamilton County Coroner's office performed an autopsy on Wednesday. They will not release any details until they receive toxicology results.
