FLORENCE, KY (FOX19) -- The Son of the Major League hit King Pete Rose has been hired by the Florence Freedom as a new hitting coach.
Pete Rose Jr. will bring over 20 years of professional playing to the Freedom dugout.
"We're thrilled to bring Petey to be out hitting coach, " Freedom Manager Tony Rumfield said. He's been by voluntarily before to work with our guys and they've been really receptive. He's going to be a great addition."
Rose Jr. finished his playing career last season with the York Revolution in the Atlantic League. From 1989 to 2009, Rose Jr. Posted a career .270 average with 1,924 profession hits
He will start the position immediately during the 2010 season.
