Law enforcement officials said Thursday crime in Cincinnati is on the on the rise on the west side. Residents told FOX19 the crime wave has been constant over the past few years. Authorities said the closing of the Queensgate Jail likely played a part in the increase in crime.
How much is too much to fix up Washington park is what Cincinnati residents are debating. The non-profit downtown development corporation "3C-DC" is asking for $14 million from the city to fix up one of Cincinnati's biggest parks. 3C-DC officials estimate the total cost of upgrading the park would be $47 million. That's over 12 million happy meals!
The senate voted down a spending bill on Thursday that would have provided emergency jobless benefits to unemployed Americans. The bill would have cost $110 billion, and would have extended unemployment benefits for roughly one million Americans whose benefits run out at the end of June.
