CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -- The Cincinnati Reds have signed Outfielder Gary Matthews Jr. to a Minor League contract on Thursday.
The 35-year-old will report to the Class AAA Louisville tonight.
Matthews was an American League All-Star while he was with the Texas Rangers in 2006.
He and his father, Gary Matthews Sr. Became the 11th father- son duo to play in an All- Star game.
The spent last season with the Los Angeles of Angles of Anaheim. There, he had 5- RBI's in 80 starts on the outfield including 46 starts in centerfield.
In 2009 Matthews hit .358 with runners in scoring position and .395 with runners in scoring position and two outs. He was the 6th best mark in the Major Leagues.
