Girl ejected from vehicle in Goshen Township accident

GOSHEN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -- An 11-year-old girl was taken to the hospital after she was ejected from a vehicle at Goshen Township.

A short time before 11:00am police, fire, EMS crews were called to the intersection of State Route 28 at Edenton Pleasant Plain Road for a two car crash with  injuries.

When crews arrived, they found an 11-year-old girl  who had been ejected from one of the vehicles. She was transported to University Hospital by Aircare. Police says she was conscious and talking.

An investigation determined that Dennis Kemp was heading south on Edenton Pleasant Plain when he failed  to stop at a stop sign and struck the vehicle driven by Tom Bissmeyer who was traveling west on SR 28.

A total of five people were injured and taken to hospitals.

A picture at the scene shows a gardening tool  that had ejected from the bed of the pick-up and stuck 15 feet up in a tree.

The Goshen Township Police is investigating the incident.
