EVANSTON, OH (FOX19) - Xavier University is growing. On Tuesday, part of a major construction project opened.
Faculty and staff with the Williams College of Business moved into a building that's part of the $78 million James Hoff Academic Quad.
It'll be the new entrance to campus and increases the size by 10 percent.
Tuesday, 77 faculty and staff members moved in, but 23 have to stay in the old office for a little longer. That's because a water main broke a month ago and caused extensive damage to the carpet and ceiling. They should be in by the time classes start on August 23.
The Hoff Academic Quad project includes over 170,000 square feet of new academic space including the new Williams College of Business and Conaton Learning Commons. The project was made possible through a combination of funds from Xavier's capital fundraising campaign and a bond issue.
