Judge to decide if Pickens gets death penalty

A judge will likely decide today if Mark Pickens gets the death penalty or life in prison.  Pickens was convicted of killing his ex-girlfriend Noelle Washington, her baby, and another child.  The jury recommended the death penalty but the judge could go either way on this one. We'll keep you posted on any new information on FOX19.com.

 

Texting while driving to become illegal in Cincinnati

Texting while driving could soon be illegal in Cincinnati. The city council voted Wednesday to ban texting while driving but a city ordinance still has to be written before  council members make it official. Council members hope to model the ordinance after the Columbus law which allows officers to pull drivers over if they suspect them of texting. Kentucky already has a ban state wide.

 

 

 

 

Hurricane Alex hits land

Hurricane Alex crashed into Mexico's Gulf coast as a powerful Category two storm Wednesday, spawning tornadoes in nearby Texas. the storm forced evacuations in both countries and created big waves that frustrated oil-spill cleanup efforts and pushed crude onto beaches.

 

 

 

 

Remembering Cincinnati

Author Linda Bailey is coming on the FOX19 Morning Show. Sheila and Rob will discuss her book "Remembering CIncinnati" which is now in paperback. Baily had the same book published in hard back two years ago but was originally called "Historic Photos of Cincinnati.

 

 

 

 

Barbecue tips for the Forth of July

We'll also be having Author Steven Raichlen on the show who wrote "Planet Barbecue." the book combines information about barbecuing from over 60 different countries. Rob and Sheila will discuss tips on making the perfect barbecue meals with Raichlen and we'll have information on his new book on FOX19.com.
