CINCINNATI (FOX19) - Interstate 71 northbound is clear of an accident that blocked all but the left hand land on Thursday afternoon near Montgomery Road.

It took several hours for wreckers to clean up a boat that came loose from a trailer and ended up in the slow lane of the interstate under the Montgomery Road overpass.

According to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, the 33 foot Thundercraft Formula X was being towed by Robert Lacerda of Cincinnati when he lost control of his 2004 Toyota Land Rover and struck the guardrail. The boat and trailer continued down the northbound lanes of the interstate where they became separated with the boat ending up under the Montgomery Road overpass.

The accident happened just after 2 P-M and it took nearly two hours for workers to remove the boat, car and trailer.

Robert Lacerda's 10-year-old daughter was also in the vehicle but neither were injured.  No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

Sheriff deputies charged Lacerda with one count of Failure to Maintain Reasonable Control, which is a minor misdemeanor.
