LEBANON, OH (FOX19) - A Kettering man was sentenced to 30 days in jail for taking his children's inheritance they received from their grandfather.

Scott Andrews, 39, inherited his father's estate when his father passed away, but $50,000 was left in a Trust to be given to Andrews' two children. That money was to be given to them after the youngest of the two children turned 25.

Andrews, who had been appointed Trustee of the Trust, instead transferred the real estate without Probate Court approval to himself and spent it on his own personal expenses. Eventually he ran out of funds and had to foreclose on his house.

One of the expenses he used the money on was child support for the two kids the money was left to.

Andrews was sentenced to serve 30 days in the county jail, 5 years of community control and ordered to pay restitution.
