City of Cincinnati fire chief to retire

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The fire chief for the city of Cincinnati announced his plans to retire on Thursday.

Fire Chief Robert Wright announced on Thursday that he will retire on January 15, 2011, after more than 30 years of service. Wright has been fire chief since October 1997.

The city has announced its intention to find a replacement for Wright as soon as possible. This is the first year that the search for the fire chief will be conducted through a nation wide search. Previously the fire chief was chosen from within the Cincinnati Fire Department.
