Two people arrested for stealing bronze plaque

MOUNT WASHINGTON, OH (FOX19) - Police have arrested two men for stealing the bronze plaque from a veteran's monument in Mount Washington.

Joshua Bessey, 22, and Shane Reynolds, 20, are both charged with one count of theft. They are already being held in the Clermont County Jail on unrelated charges.

The incident happened late in the evening on June 17 at the American Legion Post #484 on Sutton Ave.

The monument is 30"x20" and is valued at $5,000. The suspects also removed five service insignias valued at $125.

The legion says that all of the items were recovered and are looking for donations to get everything restored.
