Local soldier uses car as tribute

A local soldier is paying tribute to a fallen soldier with his car.  In fact you may have seen him in a parade yesterday driving the car as he went from parade to parade. We'll have Nathan Lowman on to discuss how an apache helicopter pilot changed his life.

 

 

 Fireworks to blame for house fire

Every year authorities warn parents about the dangers of children playing with fireworks. Folks in Avondale learned the hard way this year after fireworks were to blame for a house fire. Damages are expected to be roughly $80,000. The family of five who lived in the home are being helped by the Red Cross, and authorities said the fireworks that started the blaze were being used by children.

 

 

Police chase part of special investigation

FOX19 is working to give you the latest details on what police are calling a special investigation. A police chase started in Downtown Cincinnati ended in Milvale lead to one person being arrested. Police have not been able to comment any further at this time. 

 

 

Couple wedds at Kings Island
 
One couple showed their appreciation for Independence day, amusement parks, and their love by combining the three. Jamie Jacobs from Colorado and Kevin Kurder from Illinois celebrated July 4th by getting married at Kings Island. This was the second July 4th wedding in Park history.  I wonder if Peppermint Paddy was the maid of honor...

 

 

BP oil spill expenses

If you have been wondering how much the disaster in the Gulf of Mexico is costing British Petroleum FOX19 has some answers for you.  BP says that it has now spent more than $3 billion in attempts to stop an oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico and to settle damage claims. Officials for the oil company also said the company has spent $147 million settling 47,000 claims for payment (about half of the claims submitted so far).
