MIDDLETOWN, OH (FOX19) - A teenager is under arrest after leading police on a chase through Middletown

The Warren County Sheriff's Office lost contact with a suspect vehicle on Main Street near 2nd Avenue in Middletown. After several minutes of checking the area, Middletown officers observed the suspect vehicle in the 1400 block of South Main Street.

The vehicle had been entered as stolen by Springboro Police.

The driver ignored the officer's command to get out of the car and proceeded to back up in a reckless matter, hitting a police cruiser.

The driver then took off, leading police on a chase that reached speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. Officers terminated the chase around 2:15 a.m. and about ten minutes later, they found the SUV crashed at Verity and Elwood.

The driver fled the scene after the crash, but was located by officers in the 2000 block of Winona and taken into custody. He has been identified as Leslie Andrew Shaw, 18.

Shaw is charged with receiving stolen property and fleeing and eluding. Other charges are pending.
