BELLEVUE, KY (FOX19) - The body of a Northern Kentucky soldier who died in Afghanistan returned home Tuesday.
The body of Spec. Russell Madden returned to Lunken Airport just after 10 a.m. Tuesday morning. He will then be taken to a funeral home in Bellevue in preparation for his visitation on July 7.
Streets in Bellevue are lined with yellow ribbons and signs as residents welcome their hero home.
Madden died last month when his convoy was hit by a missile attack.
His visitation will be July 7 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Bank of Kentucky Center on the campus of Northern Kentucky University. The Mass will take place on July 8 at the Divine Mercy Parish in Bellevue. The service will start at 10:30 a.m.
