NEWPORT, KY (FOX19) - Duck boat tours have been suspended nationwide, including Newport, following an accident in Philadelphia.

Georgia-based Ride the Ducks made the announcement Thursday morning, a day after a boat in Philadelphia was struck and sunk by a barge in the Delaware River, spilling passengers into the murky waters.

Two people are still missing. Others suffered minor injuries.

A statement on the Ride the Ducks Newport website reads, "Our thoughts and prayers are with our Philadelphia tour guests, crew members and their families. We are attending to their needs first. In the interim, we have voluntarily suspended our Ride The Ducks operations nationwide. If you already have a reservation, you can receive a full refund or reschedule for a future date. We will resume operations shortly."

Ride the Ducks also operates in Branson, San Francisco, Stone Mountain and Seattle.

The boats can operate on both land and water and are popular with tourists.
