CINCINNATI (FOX19) - UPDATE- The man found dead behind a home on Craft Street in Winton Hills was remembered Sunday night as a gentle friend of homeless animals by his boss at the Cincinnati SPCA.

Operations Manager Andy Mahlman says Demetrius James had worked at the shelter as a kennel technician for about three years.  "He was a nice young man, a sweet guy, a heart of gold, a kind young man.  He was so gentle with the animals."

Mahlman says that besides working at the SPCA's location on Colerain Avenue, James was a also attending classes to become a licensed practical nurse.  "He was pretty sharp, and he wanted to make something of himself."

CINCINNATI (FOX19) -- Cincinnati Police are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred Saturday evening.

At 11:15pm, Police were called to 15 Craft Street in Winton Hills for a report of a person shot at that location. Officials found 22-year-old Demetrius James shot behind the residence. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

At this time, there are no suspects in this case.
