MADISONVILLE, OH (FOX19) - Fire crews are investigating a two-alarm fire that broke out in a vacant home in Madisonville.
It happened just before midnight in the 6500 block of East Lodge Avenue.
Initial arriving fire units discovered heavy fire and smoke showing from the first floor of a two-story vacant building. Initially firefighters entered the structure to suppress the fire. The fire was well advanced and had extended into the second floor as well as the attic, firefighters would be withdrawn from the building the fire would be fought defensively from the exterior.
A second alarm was called for extra water supply due to high demand for water flow. The fire was brought under control within an hour. The structure sustained extensive damage. The Building Department has been called to the scene. The Cincinnati Fire Investigation Unit is on scene conducting their preliminary post fire analysis.
There were no injuries reported to firefighters. Forty-five firefighters were utilized at this incident.
