CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The city's tallest building was topped off Tuesday with the final piece of its tiara.
The tiara at Great American Tower at Queen City Square was inspired by Princess Diana.
The tiara is a self-supporting arched structure made up of a series of nine interconnected arches that form the larger arched tiara shape. Each side has four smaller interconnected arched elements.
The tiara has been under construction since April 21. Overall, there are 505 individual pieces held together by 2,200 specialized bolts.
The tiara is 13 stories tall and is made up of 300 tons of steel. The total weight of the two concrete bases is 685 tons.
Overall, the Great American Tower is 41 stories high.
The $322 million Great American Tower is scheduled to open in January and is the second phase of development at Queen City Square. It consists of a 1,600 car parking garage, 800,000 square feet and 33 levels of office space and a pedestrian area with retail space.
