Lakota wants 10-year levy on November ballot

WEST CHESTER, OH (FOX19) - The Tri-State's largest school district wants to put a new 10-year levy on the November ballot.

Lakota district officials took the first steps Monday night, hoping to offset a projected $10 billion budget shortfall.

If passed, taxes on a $100,000 home would increase to $231.

Voters rejected a tax levy in May, prompting the district to cut almost $6 million, including 50 teaching positions.
