Fort Thomas elementary school demolished

FORT THOMAS, KY (FOX19) - Part of a northern Kentucky elementary school has been demolished as part of an ongoing construction project.

Portions of Woodfill Elementary came down Wednesday morning.

The original school building, which was built in 1922, as well as a portion of the north wing that was built in the 1950's, were both demolished.

The demolition is part of a project to build a brand new Woodfill Elementary, the first completely new elementary school building the Fort Thomas Independent School District in over 80 years. The project is expected to be completed by next year.

Alumni got a chance to visit the school last month before it was destroyed. The Woodfill Elementary PTO is selling bricks of the old building. Anyone interested in purchasing a brick should e-mail thetates@fuse.net.
