Hamilton man beaten to death with baseball bat

HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) - Police are investigating the death of a man in Hamilton.

Around 11 p.m. Wednesday night, officers responded to the 800 block of Ludlow Street on a report that two suspects came to a residence and demanded money. When the victim, Samuel Baez-Rosa, 44, refused to hand over any money, one of the suspects began to beat him with a baseball bat.

Baez-Rosa's roommate, Alejandro Ramirez, heard cries for help and went to assist his roommate, and he was also beaten with the bat.

Baez-Rosa was taken to Fort Hamilton Hospital and then air lifted to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:42 a.m. Ramirez suffered minor injuries and refused treatment.

Both suspects fled the scene. The first suspect is described as a white male in his mid-twenties to early thirties. The suspect stands approximately 5'10'', has a thin build, and has short blonde hair. At the time of the offense, he was wearing a three-quarter length t-shirt with writing on the front and calf length blue jean shorts.

The second suspect is a white female in her mid-twenties to early thirties with a heavy build and blonde hair. The female was wearing a white t-shirt with printing on the front and either black or gray Capri jeans. Witnesses stated that the female was able to communicate in Spanish.
