NEWPORT, KY (FOX19) - Officials with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources are continuing to investigate a fatal jet ski accident on the Ohio River.
Laura Russell, 29, died Monday after investigators say she abruptly crossed her jet-ski in front of another jet ski driven by Nicole Jackson, 31.
Kentucky Fish and Wildlife officers are examining the two jet ski's at the Ohio Department of natural resources hanger.
The Campbell County coroner's office has scheduled an autopsy on Russell for Tuesday, and a final report of the investigation will be released once those results come back, which is expected to be several days.
KDFWR officer Patrick Brannen says he doesn't believe alcohol was a factor but they won't be sure until toxicology tests come back.
"Right now, we believe this was just an unfortunate accident," said Brannen.
Jackson isn't facing any charges related to the tragic accident.
