MIDDLETOWN, OH (FOX19) - A man accused of trying to blow up his own house is expected to surrender to police Thursday.
Police said 49-year old Ivan English is charged with aggravated attempted arson.
Authorities were called to his home on Queens avenue last Friday when people reported smelling natural gas coming from his house. The gas could be smelled up to two blocks away.
Police and firefighters found several candles lit inside the home and the gas turned on. English is also a registered sex offender.
