Bracken County man sentenced for downloading child pornography

COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) - A Bracken County man has been sentenced by a federal judge to nine years in jail for downloading child pornography.

Ronald Peed, 33, was arrested in May 2009 for possession of child pornography. He pled guilty to that charge in April 2010. Peed admitted to having downloaded at least 600 images of child pornography over the Internet. The images involved children depicted in violent and sadistic acts of child abuse.

Peed was sentenced to nine years in federal prison. By law, he will have to serve at least 85% of his sentence and will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
