OSP finds $90,000 worth of illicit prescription drugs during traffic stop

FINDLAY, OH (FOX19) - A Louisville, Ky. woman faces felony drug charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized an estimated $90,000 worth of prescription drugs during a traffic stop Sunday in Hancock County, Oh.

Troopers stopped a rented 2010 Cadillac DTS, with Kentucky registration, for a marked lanes violation on the Interstate 75, near milepost 160.

They searched the car when a drug-sniffing police dog alerted on the car, and found 1,486 loritab pills, 172 oxycontin pills, 143 xanax pills and 24 bottles of Tylenol with codeine.

Jessica Smith, 28, is now charged with drug abuse of a schedule III, IV or V substance, a first-degree felony, and drug abuse of a schedule I or II substance, a second-degree felony.

Smith is held in the Hancock County Jail.

If convicted, she could face up to 18 years in prison and a $35,000 fine.
