COVINTON, KY (FOX19) - Police say one man died and two others were injured after a triple shooting Tuesday morning in Covington's City Heights neighborhood.
Police say the three people were shot on Todd Court around 1:30 a.m. The man who died had walked around the corner to Benton Road before collapsing. He was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. The other two victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Police have not released the names of any of the victims, or named any suspects.
After the shooting, there were problems with crowd control that resulted in police calling for assistance from several neighboring departments.
"Everybody was screaming and hollering and police were worrying about the crowd and not what the issue was, which was him. And I just think that they should have done more,'"says Renee Cox. She says she knew the man who died.
"This man was there bleeding to death, he was slowly dying as they were out here, arresting everybody that was basically trying to get you to do your job," she says.
Neighbors say the victim was well-known in the area, and he was trying to turn his life around.
"He had a family, he was working, he was doing other things. And he just kind of got caught up. That's what it was, I guess, being in the wrong place at the wrong time. That would basically sum it up," says Cox.
Covington Evidence Collection specialists remained on the scene Tuesday morning, investigating the case.
