EDGEWOOD, KY (FOX19) - Police have made an arrest after they say a man purposely struck a woman with his car in Edgewood Monday evening.
A short time before 8 p.m., Kenton County Police were called to the 1900 block of Main Street for a domestic altercation where a woman had been struck by a vehicle.
During the investigation, police determined that 50-year-old Ralph Daniel was traveling east in the area of Main Street when he struck 37-year-old Alison Gross.
Officials say that Gross was the live-in girlfriend of Daniel and say the couple got into a verbal argument. Daniel got into his car and left the residence, but briefly returned to the house while Gross was standing in the front yard. The two continued to argue and Ralph Daniel left the home for a second time.
Police say he then turned around and drove through the front yard of the couple's home. He nearly struck a young girl and then hit Gross. The vehicle continued through the front yard and stopped after striking another vehicle that was parked in the driveway.
Daniel had pinned his girlfriend between the house and his vehicle. He tried to back up but his car became lodged on a concrete patio planter.
Alison Gross was transported to University Hospital where she is listed in critical condition.
Ralph Daniel fled the scene on foot and flagged down officers that were called to the scene. He was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder and Wanton Endangerment. Daniel is currently being held at the Kenton County Detention Center.
