BROOKVILLE, IN (FOX19) - Indiana Conservation Officers targeted a popular portion of the Whitewater River in Brookville over the weekend.
According to Indiana Conservation Officer Corporal Steve Kinne, officers witnessed 33 violations that resulted in citations or arrests.
Those violations included 10 for public intoxication; six for possession/consumption of alcohol by minors; five for littering; one for public nudity and 11 drug for drug-related violations.
"Families often float the Whitewater River as a form of recreation," said Kinne. "There is no reason they should have to witness alcohol abuse or drug use while they are on the river. There is no tolerance for either."
