FLORENCE, KY (FOX19) - A meeting is being held Thursday night to discuss a possible smoking ban in Northern Kentucky.
The Boone County Businessmen's Association will hold a forum at the Holiday Inn on Freedom Way in Florence at 6 p.m.
Hotel and bar managers, the Northern Kentucky Health Department and an attorney will be on hand.
The 11 panelists will answers questions, then the audience will get a chance to speak.
"We're very concerned. We like to have our finger on the pulse of the community and this directly effects the community," HB Deatherage, president of the Boone County Businessmen's Association. "Should it be voluntary for owners? Should there be incentives to have not smoking? We will make our decision on August 12."
The Boone County Businessmen's Association will put this up to a vote by their members and take a stand on the issue at their August 12 meeting.
Most members aren't in favor of smoking but say they don't want the government to tell them what to do.
