AURORA, IN (FOX19) - A former Aurora police officer has taken a plea deal in a child solicitation case.
Dennis Lewis, 53, of Dillsboro, was charged with five counts of child solicitation in April after police said solicited teenage girls for sex online.
In the plea agreement, Prosecutor Aaron Negangard said he would drop four of the charges if Lewis pled guilty to the other.
The case was going to go to trial on August 9.
Sentencing is now scheduled for Sept. 2 at 10 a.m. Lewis faces up to eight years and prison and a $10,000 find.
Lewis is the former Assistant Police Chief in Aurora. He resigned following the allegations.
