OVER THE RHINE, OH (FOX19) -

UPDATE: Shanay Johnson appeared in court Thursday morning, and had her bond set at $25,000.

A woman is behind bars after police say she shot another woman in Over the Rhine.

Shanay Johnson, 21, is charged with one count of felonious assault.

Police say Johnson shot Carnisha Aridge early Wednesday morning after an argument at an apartment in the 400 block of East 12th Street in Over the Rhine's Pendleton neighborhood.

Despite reports that the two are lovers, Aridge say they are just friends.

"We are just friends, she's not my lover, she's not my girlfriend," said Aridge in a phone interview.

Police say Aridge was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. She was released later Wednesday.

In the 911 recording, Aridge told dispatchers she didn't know her shot her and she didn't see any suspects.

Twelve hours later, her story has changed.

"I just didn't want to say who it was," said Aridge.

Aridge's 4-year-old son was in the apartment when the incident happened.

Cincinnati Police were in the area when they heard the gunshot and saw Aridge come out of her apartment with a gunshot wound to the chest. After setting up a perimeter, police were able to locate, and eventually arrest Johnson.

Johnson was taken to the Hamilton County Justice Center. She will be arraigned Thursday morning.
