OWENSVILLE, OH (FOX19) - A Clermont County soldier killed in Afghanistan came home.
Five people stood along Spring Grove Avenue Friday morning to honor fallen hero and Army specialist Joseph Bauer. The turnout wasn't large, but those in attendance waived flags to honor a fellow soldier. One the men in the crowd, Robbe Bluestein, a Vietnam veteran and Purple Heart recipient says he was disappointed that so few showed appreciate for the young man who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
"I think our country has a disconnect right now and what it means to be a citizen and give back," said Bluestein.
Bauer's body arrived at the Butler County Regional Airport in Hamilton Friday morning.
From the airport, a processional traveled to Gwen Mooney Funeral Home in Spring Grove Cemetery, where a visitation will be held Saturday, August 7. That visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Funeral services are private; a memorial service is planned next week in Owensville. Condolences may be sent to www.springgrove.org.
