CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The Cincinnati Reds are gearing up for a huge series with the St. Louis Cardinals.
The Reds have a two game lead over the Cards in the National League Central as the two face off in the three-game series.
Dan Lincoln, Cincinnati USA, says that the Hyatt, the Hilton and the Garfield Inn and Suites are completely full for the game. The Millennium hotel had 137 walk-in compared to their usual 20.
This will be great business for businesses around the area.
"You've got all these people coming in, eating in restaurants, going to bars going to museums and attractions, staying for an extra two or three days with their families cause it's still summer. They're going to the zoo, museums, Kings Island," says Dan Lincoln.
Not only are the hotels in downtown filling so are hotels in the suburbs are also beginning to fill up as well.
"When you have a full house not just on a weekend but on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday it doesn't get much better than that," says Dan Lincoln.
At lunch time Monday, the ticket line at Great American Ball Park was packed with several fans trying to get their hands on some of the few remaining tickets left for the series.
The Reds haven't officially announced a sell-out for any of the games, but if and when they do sell out, it will be announced on the team's Twitter page.
The Reds made a move Monday afternoon, trading outfielder Chris Dickerson to the Brewers for outfielder Jim Edmonds.
Monday and Tuesday's game begin at 7:10 p.m. On Monday, rookie pitcher Mike Leake will take on Cards ace Chris Carpenter. Tuesday, Johnny Cueto will take on Jamie Garcia. For Wednesday's 12:35 p.m. start, Bronson Arroyo will take the mound against Adam Wainwright.
