CINCINNATI (FOX19) - A Cincinnati SWAT standoff ended peacefully in South Fairmount.

Police said Scott Reuter, 45, barricaded himself inside a home on the 2100 block of Champlain Street on Tuesday night for four hours. Reuter surrendered just after midnight on Wednesday.

Officers said it all started after police were looking Reuter for allegedly tying up, assaulting and robbing a 79-year old man early Tuesday morning in Avondale.

Police said Reuter had multiple weapons inside the apartment and told family members he would harm himself. No one was injured during the standoff.

Police said Reuter did not live in the apartment, but knew the people living inside of it. Officers said those people somehow got out of the apartment and Reuter was the only one left inside during the standoff.

Several main roads near the scene were closed off during the standoff.

Reuter was taken to District One headquarters for further questioning.
